If you miss the dreamy rock of Acetone (R.I.P. Richie Lee) and find yourself growing impatient with Mazzy Star's decade-long follow-up to 1996's Among My Swan, Brightblack Morning Light have something you need. On their self-titled Matador debut, they ooze slow-burning songs that simmer sleepy guitar effects (a la early Spiritualized) with lazy freak folk (think Vetiver on Oxycodone) as heavy-lidded male/female vocal harmonies slow dance around hushed horns and an old Wurlitzer jazz piano.
