An expansive 52-song collection, this holiday themed blues record includes a great number of original and fairly obscure blues by known and unknown wailers. The pre-war tracks are expectedly rough around the edges, but the best comes with lesser known holiday heartbreakers, like Julia Lee and Her Boyfriends' "Christmas Spirit" and Little Esther's "Faraway Christmas Blues."
