This album may be summed up best by the title of its third track: "Ganges Delta Blues." Cooder's deft slide guitar playing mingles with Bhatt's mohan vina (an instrument he created and named after himself). The result is a thoughtful, intimate album marked lightly with tabla and dumbek accompaniment. Impressively, the album doesn't sound like fusion or new age.
