Helped along by smash hit "Hello, I Love You," the Doors returned to the top of the pop charts with a gentler sounding LP. Yes, Jim Morrison can be blamed for belting out highly pretentious lyrics on top of musical bombast ("Not To Touch The Earth," anyone?) but tracks like "The Unknown Soldier," "Spanish Caravan" and the apocalyptic "Five To One" retain their power.
