The 37-year-old Hedberg died of a drug overdose in 2005, which means he joined the died-before-their-time comedy crowd: Belushi, Hicks, Kinison, etc. Like a cross between Steven Wright and an escapee from a mental hospital, Hedberg plays the stuttering amateur routine to perfection. He stumbles through dead-end non sequiturs, inner ramblings that make zero sense and genius one-liners: "I gotta vest. If I had my arms cut off, it would be a jacket." Even better: "A burrito is a sleeping bag for beef."
