From 1999 and tattooed by the unmistakable wriggle of Les Claypool's bass torture, Monsters and Robots was Buckethead's biggest-selling album. "Stun Operator" boasts one of his finest riffs, in a Godzilla-stomping-on-Tokyo way, and the next song, "Scapula" really delivers on the weirdo-metal scale -- it practically sounds like The Dillinger Escape Plan. Before and after those songs, Buckethead and Claypool, uh, sheik their booties and consistently make good on their promise to be the zaniest dudes in rock music since Frank Zappa tricked the world into thinking he was funny.
