The Prefab Four didn't have to make timeless pop music -- but they did. All their big hits, from "Last Train to Clarksville" to "Steppin' Stone," are here, but so are cult classics like "The Porpoise Song" and "Randy Scouse Git," a wonderfully cheeky Beatles/Kinks pastiche. Prefab or not, the Monkees were a great band.
