Pearl Jam and Neil Young, together at last. This loose-limbed, raucously shambolic 1995 jam session between the grunge gods and the grunge godfather is a fount of expertly half-assed excellence: The first thing you hear is Neil announcing, "No tuning, nothing" before the flannel-pirate shanty "Song X" roars to ragged life. The mood is lithe and light -- the jaunty "Downtown" got some alt-rock radio spins -- but there's still room for blazing guitar histrionics and some widescreen epic-poem poignancy ("I'm the Ocean" is a monster). Eddie Vedder fans should head straight for "Peace and Love."
