The sessions for LCD Soundsystem's third album sound like the stuff of future legend, with the band holed up in an L.A. mansion, garbed all in white and channeling vintage analog vibes. The seance clearly worked: They're on top of their game and having a blast. James Murphy's wry wit carries the day on "Pow Pow" and "You Wanted a Hit," funk-infused self-portraits of the artist as a neurotic misfit; "Drunk Girls" delivers the disavowed hit. "One Touch" and "Dance Yrself Clean" satisfy the disco quotient, while "All I Want" and "I Can Change" show the band at its vulnerable best.
