Forget that Golden Smog was once considered an alt rock super group. Another Fine Day is a summery pop record of the highest caliber. "5-22-02" could make B&S's Stuart Murdoch hang his head in shame, while the harmonies on the chorus to Jeff Tweedy's heartbreaker "Listen Joe" could reduce any Beatle, Byrd or Beach Boy to tears (even the ones listening up in heaven). Think this is hyperbole? Just listen to the platter a few times -- it has the songs to back up its use of old favorite arrangements and classic styles.
