Ferry was suffering from extended writer's block so he decided to cut another covers collection. Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell On You" becomes a noir/funk dirge, while the Velvet Underground's "All Tomorrow's Parties" gets a polished Euro sleaze treatment. Best of all is the title cut, an obscure early 1980s soul number that Ferry turns into an epic nocturnal narrative.
