Landed got a bad rap when it was released in 1975, called frivolous by many critics who did not see the band's move toward a poppier sound as a good thing. "Commercial" direction or not, this is still Can, so even traditional pop ideas are skewed, the vocals (sans Damo) are bizarre, and sonic oddities boomerang all over the place. The album is a blast to listen to on headphones, but maybe its impact wasn't fully felt until kids started messing with robotic dance punk in the early 2000s (see Ladytron, GRAVY TRAIN!!!!). "Vernal Equinox" features the extended jam freakery Can fans love.
