This Russian sextet mainly plays goth-siren metal of the Lacuna Coil or Nightwish stripe, loaded with Hallmark card corn: "You are the king and I'm your queen, let this fairy tale be real," flaming-haired Natalia Terekhova belts. They've got twinkly electronic parts, perfumey beauty parts, parts syncopating like a toy factory ("Everlasting Pain"), parts where flutes folk out ("Paradise Land"). But what keeps them grounded is a fondness for earthy-crunchy '80s power-rock chords. When they get eerie-quiet and echo an ancient Heart melody in "The Temple of Darkness," witching hour has come.
