For decades this concert document was the most cherished of all Bowie bootlegs. Now it's been remastered and presented to the public as official product. The reason the long-toiling Bowie finally hit it big with Ziggy Stardust is made plain here: fiery pre-punk passion, outsider weirdness, pop melodies galore, a fantastic backing band, startling musical diversity, literate cult touchstones (The Velvets, Brel, Scott Walker), an impressive back catalog -- largely unknown at the time -- and some old-fashioned showbiz razzle-dazzle. Freaking fantastic.
