Starting with this 1996 release, Benson decided to go forgo the R&B market and concentrate on his guitar playing once again (though there's still plenty of his trademark scatting and singing here). This is more of a warm up to the stellar work that came next, but "The Thinker" updates '60s Soul Jazz to good effect, and "Johnnie Lee" is a pretty instrumental ballad.
