The diminutive belter Jimmy Rushing gets back together with many of his Count Basie cohorts for another blistering set of swing flagwavers and down home blues. The aging Rushing is in fine form, and joining him and his friends from the big band era are a selection of modernists, including Zoot Sims and Al Cohn. Most of these songs don't show up too many times in his five decade-long recording career.
