The Hilliard Ensemble goes very old school with this 15th century collection of Desprez choral works. His compositions and fluid writing style greatly influenced this era, as he led the Pope's choir for years and his music was a commercial success throughout Europe. "El Grillo" is perhaps the greatest hit from this album.
