Like Yogi Bear with eyeliner and a key-tar, Kill Hannah is smarter than your average glam band. They've been around for over a decade, and their second album for Atlantic, Until There's Nothing Left of Us, takes a dark, twisted journey through dreamy, elevated rock and sparkly electro-pop. The title of first single "Lips Like Morphine" might be a nod to the Buzzcocks, but the sound hews closer to Smashing Pumpkins' vast, yearning anthems. "Black Poison Blood," with its plaintive piano and an elastic rhythm section, is one of our faves; their cover of "Under the Milky Way" brings us willingly back to 1990.
