As Lupe says on the song's ridiculously catchy hook, this is for people sick of the "pimps, macks and mobsters." Normally, these sentiments are excuses for failure, but Lupe is genuinely charismatic and talented, and "I Gotcha" is the hip-hop equivalent of Frosted Shredded Wheat: Sugary, Pharrell-fueled pop on the outside; crunchy nutritious, conscious-rap on the inside.
