Biografie

To most of us, he's Mr. Shuester, the perpetually mocked, uncomfortably earnest, endearingly dorky and, yet, searingly hot show choir director on the hit TV show Glee. That voice, those cardigans, those fly white boy dance moves, that lesbian (according to Sue Sylvester) hairdo: It's no wonder Mr. Shue is a big star. But the man behind him, Matthew Morrison, is also a star in his own right. Way back when Rachael was still a twinkle in her dads' and their egg donor's eyes -- or at least as far back as the early 2000s -- the multitalented Morrison and his destined-to-be-famous abs were making a name for themselves on the Great White Way. After spending his childhood in California, he moved to New York, attended NYU's famed Tisch School of the Performing Arts and started auditioning. A gig in a Broadway production of Footloose got his foot in the door, and a star turn in the original production of Hairspray became his big break. But it was snagging the Glee gig that really cemented Morrison's celebrity. In 2010, he signed a contract with Mercury Records, the label behind his debut solo album, out in 2011.
