Nneka could not have picked a more perfect title for her second album. Her soul sounds heavy -- with emotion, with personal and political heartbreak -- whether she's crooning a love song through a dubby waterfall or social critique over a Latin rock groove ("V.I.P"). But beyond her lyrics, Nneka's soul is heavy, each cut is masterfully constructed and delivered with gravitas and vibrancy.
