Of all the garage revival acts to surface in the '90s, the Dirtbombs may have been the most underrated. Singer Mick Collins channels black heroes of the '60s and '70s with these covers, backing it up with a full assault of denim-clad honky rock 'n' roll -- two bass guitars, two drummers and a ratty mess of guitar. Many covered artists share the band's Detroit zip code, making tunes like Marvin's "Got to Give It Up" and Stevie's "Livin' For the City" sound comfortably at home, but lesser-known nuggets like "Ode To A Black Man" by Thin Lizzy's Phil Lynott certainly don't stop the party.
