The Human League

The stereotypical "difficult third album," the Human League burned through a bunch of producers and took years to come up with a follow-up to Dare. Not a great album, but there are some ace songs here, including the relentless "Lebanon" and the oddly compassionate "Life On Your Own," which is further pushed along by Phil Oakey's kindly, matter-of-fact vocals.
