The Yayhoos

The Yayhoos are a supergroup of sorts, consisting of Dan Baird of Georgia Satellites, Eric Ambel (former Joan Jett and Del Lords guitarist and current Steve Earle sideman), songwriting drummer Terry Anderson, and Keith Christopher (an alumnus of Billy Joe Shaver's band and current bassist for Kenny Wayne Shepherd). Their mandate seems to be to play Roots-oriented music with a sense of abandon that leaves all raw edges intact. The listener is left with a sound that conjures the best elements of the Band, Humble Pie and Waylon Jennings into one lovingly sloppy whole.
