Vic Dickenson

Though he's been more of a career sideman than a leader, Vic Dickenson can definitely direct a session with his swinging, humor-filled trombone playing when given the opportunity. Dickenson played with just about every early major jazz star -- including Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Benny Carter, Coleman Hawkins and many more.
