German heavyweight Westbam is one of the most impressive figures in dance music today. Acclaimed in the late 1980s for first organizing the Love Parade, a massive outdoor event that takes place in Berlin and pulls in over 250,000 partiers annually, Westbam is both a legend among club promoters and a hero to dance fiends. His genre-defying, anthem-dropping style moved from Chicago House to Detroit Techno before relenting to the Trance trend in the late '90s. This leader of Germany's highly respected scene is a revered icon who shows no signs of slowing down.
